Job description
We are currently working in partnership with an established Housing Association located in Bedfordshire, who are recruiting for a Senior Housing Officer (ref: 47353). This is a permanent position and the start date for this role is as soon as possible, negotiable depending on your notice period.
The salary being offered for the role is £35,000 per annum and the ideal candidate will have access to a vehicle (onsite parking is provided).
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Covering a patch of 500 properties shared across your team
Daily management of two members of staff including (1 x Housing Officer, 1 x Housing Assistant)
Providing support to the Housing Services Manager whilst they work on separate projects
Completing quarterly reviews and providing relevant service updates to management
Responsible for chasing rent arrears and trying to prevent arrears in the future by developing repayment plans
Serving section 8 and section 21 notices if applicable and carrying out evictions if escalated
Responsible for preparing paperwork and attending court for rent arrears cases
Allocating properties to new and existing customers, managing the sign-up process and completing interviews and eligibility checks
Dealing with all aspects of tenancy management inclusive of: mutual changes, successions and name exchanges
Mediating low level cases of ASB and taking witness statements where required
Responsible for all aspects of neighbourhood management including estate walkabout and ensuring communal areas remain clean and tidy
Signposting customers to external services and liaising with the police and local authority where required
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Applicants must have prior experience of attending court
A strong background working as a Housing Officer previously
The ideal candidate will have some experience of staff management

37 hours a week
Monday – Friday
9:00am – 5:00pm
Agile working with a mixture of office, patch and home – up to two days a week working on patch
