Job description

Our client, based in Coventry, is currently recruiting for a Recovery Worker on a 12-week temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a part time basis. The hourly rate being offered is £17.50 per hour via an Umbrella Company.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable service users with a range of complex needs, including substance misuse and hold an Enhanced DBS taken out within the last year

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Carry out triage assessments with clients experiencing problematic alcohol and/ or substance misuse issues

  • Triage assessment and onward referral to a range of treatment/ community support agencies

  • Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral

  • Maintaining and monitoring the referral spreadsheet to ensure that clients are given the appropriate appointment as quickly as possible

  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community

  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self determination

  • Liaise with external agencies such as health services, hospitals and GP

  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services

Experience required:

  • Experience required working with those with complex needs including substance misuse

  • An excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field

  • Experience of working in an outcomes-focused environment

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative

  • Ability to liaise and work in partnership with a wide range of professionals and agencies

  • Knowledge of mental health interventions, services and good practice

Working hours:

  • 22.50 hours per week

  • Between the hours of 9am till 5pm Monday – Friday
