Job description

We are currently partnering a Local Authority in the North-West, in their recruitment for a Planning & Highways Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month contract.

The team are ideally looking for someone to undertake full-time (37) hours but they can consider candidates looking for 4-days per week, and the rate is between £50 - £60 per hour (negotiable subject to PQE).

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a mixed caseload of Planning and Highways matters, including attending meetings and advising Council Officers and Members in regards to legal issues, governance and procedure

  • Independently managing and progressing key planning cases, including S.106s and deeds of variations

  • Drafting and advising s.106 agreements, CIL, certificates of lawful use and advising on other planning related matters

  • Advising on, drafting and completing highways agreements, including deeds of dedication and footpaths orders
