Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer on a temporary contract until March 2025. The position is due to start immediately, with an hourly rate of pay of £23 - £25 per hour CIS.
The ideal candidate must have access to their own van and tools, and have a strong background of conducting repairs and maintenance within domestic properties.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Carrying out a full range of multi-trade works for both day-to-day repairs and planned maintenance services within domestic properties (Plumbing, Carpentry, Plastering, Concreting, Bricklaying, Flooring & Decorating)
Specifying and undertaking works to a high standard, while ensuring value for money and excellent customer satisfaction
Completing works on a first-time fix basis, and arranging follow-on works where this is not possible
Utilising a hand-held PDA to receive, record and update repairs works
Ordering, collecting, organising and utilising materials efficiently, ensuring accurate stock records are kept
Ensuring all works are conducting within Health & Safety regulations
Providing a high quality, customer-focused service to residents, leaseholders and other service users
Experience & Skills required:
An ability to conduct high quality domestic maintenance, including Plumbing, Carpentry, Plastering, Concreting, Bricklaying, Flooring & Decorating
A background of working within social housing
Knowledge of health & safety procedures and regulations
Committed to providing a high level of service to tenants
Working hours:
40 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm
