Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Bristol, who are recruiting for a Housing Officer on a 9-month fixed term contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The salary they are offering is £26,276 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have an Enhanced DBS certificate within 3 years, drive and have access to their own vehicle, and have proven experience of Housing Officer duties.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Carry out all administrative duties associated with the allocations and lettings process and updating numerous systems accurately

  • Liaise with colleagues in other teams, such as maintenance, rents services and development to ensure vacant properties were ready for letting and gathered information for placing adverts

  • Work closely with local authority partners and other internal teams through the void and lettings process

  • Performed desk-based pre-assessments of shortlisted applicants and terminating tenancies

  • Communicated closely with Housing Officers to ensure that the end of tenancy visits, home visits, viewings and sign-ups were completed promptly

  • Organise and prepared all tenancy documents for sign up of lettings, advertise letting on company website and acted as a point of contact for customers with queries relating to progress and decisions made following choice-based lettings bids

  • Kept up to date with policies and procedures on allocations and waiting lists

Experience required:

Experience required in Social Housing

Experience working with vulnerable tenants within housing

Working hours:

37 hours per week

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am-5:30pm
