Job description

We are working with a leading Care Provider, who are recruiting for a Learning & Development Partner to support across the Shropshire region.

The is a permanent position, paying £35,000 and would be home-based, with travel to sites to deliver face to face training, primarily in Telford, but also other areas of Shropshire.

They are looking for a strong Learning & Development Partner, experienced in the planning and delivery of induction training for new starters, with a minimum two years’ experience in a Residential Care setting, to ensure employees are fully aware and trained on all required health and social care training in accordance with company and regulatory expectations.

Training will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Safeguarding children
  • Behaviour training
  • CSE and MFH
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Medication
  • Ligature Awareness
  • Duties will include (but are not limited to):

    • Working as part of the learning and development team in the design and delivery of training to employees
    • Leading all induction training across the region
    • Arranging the course administration in conjunction with the L&D Coordinator
    • Managing any required assessment of training, producing reports and recommendations to the Curriculum Design Manager and Head of L&D
    • Training and developing colleagues, operational trainers and managers on Train the Trainer workshops, in order for them to deliver training courses within the standardised approach necessary for quality assurance

    Experience required:

    • Experience as a trainer, delivering training for a minimum of 2 years
  • Experience of working within a care setting.
  • (Bild Act specify a minimum of 2 years’ continual experience in a sector specific service)
  • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

    • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Understanding of good practice, current legislation and policy trends in Health and Social Care
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of people in various settings, e.g. one-to-one, presentations, written work, etc.
  • Working hours:

    • 9 Day inductions running Monday through to the Following Thursday (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
    • 6 Day inductions running Monday to Monday (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
