Job description
Our Local Authority client based in the North West, is currently recruiting for an interim Deputy Monitoring Officer on a locum basis for 6-months initially.
The role is predominantly remote with ad-hoc attendance required for key meetings, and offers a rate of up to £850 p/day UMB.
The ideal candidate will have Monitoring Officer or DMO experience within Local Government, and practise as a qualified legal professional.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Acting as Deputy Monitoring Officer with responsibility for reviewing and advising on the constitution, key decisions, council and committee reports and officer decision records
Carrying own caseload of 25+ matters spanning Local Governance law and practice, including advising Council officers
Providing guidance on Cabinet and Council reports, in accordance with the Council’s constitution, law and practice
Working hours:
Up to 37-hours a week
Part time/flexible working patterns will be considered
