Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a professional membership body based in East Central London, who are recruiting for a HR Manager on a temporary 4-month contract. The position is due to start in early October with flexible working. The hourly rate of pay will be between £32.08 and £35.34 PAYE including holiday pay.

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive HR Manager/Business Partner experience in a public sector organisation.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting the Director of HR in developing and implementing successful strategies for engaging and working with senior managers and other employees in the management of change and attainment of good HR practice
  • Developing and maintaining a learning and development strategy aligned to the organisations current and future needs and initiate talent management strategies to develop the future the leaders of the organisation
  • Overseeing and leading on HR projects, reviews, and restructure
  • Maintaining expertise and keep up to date with employment law; ensuring policies are updated and managers are informed of relevant legislative changes
  • Contributing to the organisational development of the organisation by initiating and supporting a continuous management development programme
  • Leading on the learning and development, payroll, recognition awards, and the performance management system
  • Experience required:

  • Experience required in public sector or similar organisation
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders
  • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Line management
  • Functioning in a generalist capacity
  • Capable of end-to-end recruitment
  • Organisational development
  • Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm and some flexibility
  • 2/3 days working from home
