Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Bedfordshire, who are recruiting for a Hostel Support Coach on a permanent basis. The position is due to start immediately, working 37.00 hours per week.

The role has an annual salary of between £24,000 - £26,000 dependent on experience. The ideal candidate will have previous supported housing experience, an Enhanced DBS certificate, or be happy to have one carried out, drive and have access to their own vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Working with approximately eight service users of age groups from 16 – 65 in a hostel-based setting

  • Conducting room checks to ensure all tenancies are adhered to

  • Providing one to one key working sessions and coaching sessions

  • Providing a move on support service to young people looking to move into longer term accommodation

  • Signposted customers to additional support services where required

  • Ensuring customers were registered to medical services e.g., GP

  • Managing incidents of ASB which arise within the accommodation

  • Providing housing management advice – including supporting customers with welfare and housing benefit claims

  • Ensuring that all safeguarding is adhered to and maintained and conducting health and safety checks

Experience required:

  • Providing advice to customers regarding welfare and housing benefits

  • Conducting one to one support sessions

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding protocols

  • Dealing with low to medium incidents of ASB

  • Conducting health and safety checks

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week on a rota basis

  • Monday – Friday

  • 7:00am – 3:00pm

  • 11:00am – 7:00pm

  • 9:30am – 5:30pm

  • One in four weekends
