Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority client in the West Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Homelessness Lawyer to join the team on a locum basis for 6-12 months.

The role offers home working, with regular Court attendance required in the West Midlands at short notice. The hourly rate for the role is £45 p/hour UMB.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a mixed caseload of Homelessness Law with matters including pre-action protocols, judicial review and appeals

  • Advising the client on homelessness and appeal queries, the Homelessness Reduction Act and legislation, including instances where applicants have been housed in B&B accommodation for over 6-weeks

  • Attending Court trials in the West Midlands on an ad-hoc basis, alongside a Barrister

  • Supporting the City Solicitor and Legal team with regard to the conduct of legal casework

Experience required:

  • Conducting own advocacy

  • Strong knowledge of Housing Management & ASB

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday
