Job description
Our client, based in Devon, is currently recruiting for a Head of Asset Maintenance on a six – twelve-month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The day rate for this role is negotiable would be circa £500 a day via an Umbrella Company.
The ideal candidate will need to have experience leading a public sector Asset Maintenance Service and would have to have been exposed to both commercial and domestic dwellings.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Lead the continuous improvement of the council’s Asset/Maintenance function that will include, Retrofit, Maintenance, Fund Asset Management, Capital Expenditure and Health and Safety
- Assist with the strategic delivery of the Asset Maintenance function, and assist in the communication of the business plans across the council
- Have line management responsibility for the Planned Works Manager, Repairs Manager, Asset Support Manager, Development Manager and Health & Safety Manager
- Lead the Assets Maintenance team by delivering a comprehensive asset management function in respect of the Council's diverse property portfolio and to contribute to the delivery and management of those estate management activities
- Have financial oversight of the capital expenditure budgets whilst establishing and implementing improvement programmes for the council’s domestic and commercial portfolios
- Adopt oversight for the constant professional improvement of all employees that work within the Asset Maintenance team and provide a clear pathway for colleagues to thrive at the council
