We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in the South West of the UK, who are recruiting for a Governance Manager on a three-month temporary contract. The position is due to start immediately, and offering an hourly rate of pay in the region of £50.00 p/h.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating within the Local Government setting, and specifically experience handling a range of Governance matters in line with guidelines.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Providing technical advice, expertise and practical support to Children Services in relation to all aspects of governance, ensuring that Children Services are administered appropriately, and that statutory and good practice arrangements are complied with

• Devising and managing Information Governance Systems, supporting the corporate Senior Information Governance (IG) Lead in monitoring systems and compliance General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and internal policies and procedures

• Managing and organising all Children’s Services Governance meetings/boards including Children’s Services Scrutiny and Committee meetings, CS Improvement Boards, Children and Young Peoples Partnership Boards

• Managing the workflow into an annual cycle of business for meetings, ensuring purposeful agendas which takes account of Children Services matters and is focused on improvement working with the Chairs of each Board, across partnerships

Experience required:

• Experience required in Local Government

• Experience working within Governance

Working hours:

• 35 hours per week

• Monday – Friday
