Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a reputable Housing Association based in Surrey, who are recruiting for a Fire Improvement Works Project Surveyor on a permanent basis.

The start date is dependent on notice period. The Salary for this position is £50,000 per annum + car allowance.

The ideal candidate will have a full UK driver’s license and prior relevant experience in social housing.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting the Senior FIW Project Manager in the delivery of the planned active and passive fire improvement works arising from the Fire Risk Assessments ensuring compliance with statutory duties, regulation and Policy
  • Providing an excellent level of customer service to all customers, including managing complaints within the relevant service areas for which the post holder is responsible
  • Continually monitor and inspect fire improvement works throughout the duration of the works ensuring all works are completed in accordance with the specification, to a good standard and specified materials with the relevant certification are used at all times
  • Carry out post inspections for handover of completed work for monthly valuations
  • Review and authorise work variations up to the post holder’s delegated authority or escalate to the Senior FIW Project Manager for authorisation

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing
  • Experience working with customers within housing
  • Good experience of managing maintenance services within an RSL or private sectors
  • Knowledge of the procurement and implementation of maintenance and services
  • Experience of working within budget and identifying efficiency savings

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline or ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • NEBOSH (desirable)
  • Full driving license
