Job description

We are currently partnering with a leading educational body based in Wembley, who are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join their growing team on a three month temporary basis, with the view to potentially move onto a permanent basis after this period.

This is a full-time position and the daily rate is negotiable dependant on experience.

Please note the ideal candidate will be an enhanced DBS holder or be willing to take one out!

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Handling one main budget for the main Wembley Academy

  • Managing one Finance Assistant, carrying out performance reviews and appraisals

  • Holding responsibility for regional reporting, consolidation and analysis – including for cashflow forecasting, capital planning, cost metrics and efficiencies

  • Providing month end review and sign off of balance sheets and deliverables

  • Working closely with the Regional Finance Director, developing best practice across the region, creating and maintaining finance manuals and guides

  • Delivering regional wide training on new initiatives and the implementation of best practice

  • Taking responsibility for the schools’ accounts preparation including month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations, as well as invoice and financial processing where required

  • Being responsible for processing, checking and approving payments through the banking platform

Experience required:

  • Qualified/part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or qualified by experience

  • Able to run effective administrative and financial systems

  • Experience working in a multi-site business, managing multiple projects/conflicting priorities

  • Able to use financial databases and confidence in learning new technologies

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (can offer flexible working hours)

  • Please note that this role does not offer hybrid working, the successful applicant will be required to be on site between two different sites
