Job description

Our Local Government client based in Oxfordshire, is currently recruiting for an Education/SEN Lawyer to join the team on a permanent basis.

The position is due to start as soon as possible, and they are offering up to £54,702 per annum dependent on PQE.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within the Local Authority setting and specifically within Education Law & SEN.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling and advising on a varied caseload of SEN and Education Law cases, providing proactive support to the team with all queries
  • Acting on SEN cases and advising clients about Tribunal cases
  • Carrying own caseload of matters, including covering Court work and hearings as required
  • Providing expert legal advice and representation in various Education disputes
  • Conducting legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents, and providing case analysis
  • Assisting in negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions when appropriate
  • Conducting advocacy as required in relation to varied cases, including Education Tribunals

Experience required:

  • Knowledge in Education & SEN Law
  • Local Government experience desirable

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
