Job description

Our client, based in the Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Damp and Mould Manager on a permanent basis. The client will also consider interim options for this position.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The salary is £55,000 to £60,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience of leading Damp, Mould & Disrepair services within social housing.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading a dedicated team focused on diagnosing and addressing damp, mould, and disrepair issues

  • Managing a small group of Surveyors, Liaison Officers, and Operatives to ensure high-quality service delivery

  • Ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard while maintaining exceptional customer service

  • Collaborating closely with planned and major works teams to efficiently execute damp and mould remediation efforts

  • Identifying and implementing solutions to manage and reduce the underlying causes of these issues

  • Driving initiatives to adopt a proactive and preventive approach to damp and mould challenges

  • Overseeing the achievement of commitments and action plans related to damp and mould, ensuring timelines and expected outcomes are met

  • Providing timely and accurate interventions for more complex issues

  • Working alongside legal services to effectively manage disrepair cases

  • Implementing strategies to help the team resolve disrepair cases promptly and reduce the current caseload

Experience/Qualifications required:

  • A strong background of leading property maintenance teams

  • A successful track record of addressing damp, mould and disrepair issues

  • Experience of working within Social Housing

  • Experience of working with social housing tenants and providing a high level of customer service

  • A minimum of a HNC or equivalent qualification

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
