​We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Oxfordshire, who are recruiting for a locum Childcare Lawyer to join their team on an initial 3-month contract.

The role offers remote working with attendance required for Court hearings, and the rate is in the region of £55 p/hour UMB.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Providing a comprehensive legal service on all aspects of child protection work to the Children, Young People and Families Directorate and to the Council
  Handling a personal portfolio of child care cases, including advising on very complex matters, to a high standard of professional practice
  Representing the Council in legal proceedings concerning children in the Family Court

• Briefing Counsel on behalf of the Council in the Family Court, and obtaining Counsel’s opinion on any relevant matters relating to children’s proceedings

• Advising on, negotiating and drafting legal documents to give effect to decisions of the Client Directorate and the Council

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week

• Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
