Job description

We are currently partnering with a Local Council based within Surrey, who are recruiting for an Aids & Adaptations Surveyor to join their team on a six-month temporary basis.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, with the rate of pay ranging from £37.00 -£40.00 umbrella, looking to interview on short notice.

Due to the nature of the role, recent experience within Aids and Adaptations is vital with up-to-date knowledge of regulations, assisting with the delivery of a high-quality disabled adaption service.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • To provide technical surveying and contractor management resource support relating to the maintenance and adaptation/installation of the disabled

  • To carry out or oversee surveys and produce recommendations, prepare documentation for procurements and managed contracts

  • To project manage external contractors in the delivery of the adaptation/ improvement projects on time, on budget and to the agreed quality standard

  • To develop, support, and maintain relationships with Technical Services and Community Services team members, internal, and external stakeholder, customers providing technical advice in resolving their queries and issues in order to meet our customers’ needs and expectations

  • To update and maintain systems/ records to ensure that information/data is kept up to date and accurate and that any relevant KPI’s are met

  • To work positively and collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the Technical Services and Community Services department’s action plan and business objectives

  • To undertake and participate in tenant representatives’ meetings and report on any issues related to aids & adaptations as required

Experience required:

  • Experience of working within a Social Housing environment with experience of undertaking and managing adaptation works contracts/projects

  • Project & Contract management skills

  • Ability to work, plan, and implement effectively

  • Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical

  • drawings

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of adaptation works regulations, guidelines and requirements

  • Ability to prepare clear and detailed aids & adaptations plans and specifications

Rewards and Benefits:

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
