Job description
We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for an Adult Social Care Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis for 6-months initially.
This is a full-time position for 35-hours a week, offering a rate in the region of £55 p/hour UMB.
The role offers hybrid working, with attendance required at Court hearings and once a month for team meetings.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Advising the Council on a range of Adult Social Care matters and mental health issues
Handling a varied caseload of adult social care matters, including care management and assessments, mental capacity, mental health, asylum, immigration and adult safeguarding
Undertaking advocacy in the Courts and representing the council in the Court of Protection
Providing advice under the Mental Health Act 1983, including displacement of nearest relative, deprivation of liberty, place of safety, s117 aftercare
