Job description

We are proud to be partnering with a large regional Housing Association, who are looking to appoint a Tenancy Sustainment Officer on a temporary contract up until July 2025.

This will be a full-time position based in Salford, with hybrid working (2/3 days home working) and paying up to £21.00 an hour via an umbrella company.

You are required to have experience in financial inclusion and working with tenant with complex needs such as extreme mental health and hording.

 

You need an enhanced DBS within the last 12 Months to complete this role.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • To take referrals from Neighbourhood teams for the more vulnerable and complex customers, undertaking risk assessments, safeguarding and multi-agency work, drawing on their welfare benefit knowledge to help maximise customers income
  • To provide early intervention, guidance and assistance to customers who are most at risk of failing to sustain their tenancy, both before and during their tenancy
  • To provide customers with Financial Inclusion guidance, support and/or signposting, along with conducting arrears discussions, to maximise income recovery
  • To focus on the customer's strengths, encouraging them to build on these by identifying the skills and tools they need to successfully manage their tenancy and live independently
  • To understand customer demand trends and sustainment trigger points, using customer data to inform best approaches to deliver sustainment services
  • To provide support, coaching and assistance to front-line colleagues, to enable them to signpost and support customers, often working in conjunction with tenancy management or legal intervention when cases are escalated by colleagues for intensive support

Experience required:

  • An understanding of the challenges vulnerable people may face when sustaining a tenancy
  • Strengths based interventions to support people to achieve positive outcomes
  • An understanding of welfare benefits and how to support customers to maximise these
  • A broad knowledge around mental health and addiction support
  • A driver with access to a vehicle for work
  • An Enhanced Adult DBS is required for this role

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
  • 2/3 Days Working From home a week
