Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Hertfordshire, who are recruiting for a Support Worker on a two-month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately with an hourly rate of pay negotiable up to £20.00 per hour working via an Umbrella Company.
The ideal candidate will be immediately available, have an Enhanced DBS certificate dated within the last three years, drive and have access to their own vehicle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Carrying out support plans, regularly developing these and monitoring progression
Providing one to one support to a caseload of vulnerable service users including mental health and learning disabilities across two accommodation services
Supporting customers to learn skills to enhance independent living
Completing property checks on a regular basis and liaising with the maintenance team
Attending appointments alongside customers if required
Completing weekly fire alarm checks
Providing welfare and benefits advice and contacting PIP departments
Actioning any safeguarding concerns in an efficient and timely manner
Signposting customers to additional support organisations and liaising with providers to find the best support path possible
Experience required:
Proven experience required working in a Supported Housing setting
Have worked with the Recovery Model and Trauma Informed Care previously
Experience working with people with a Dual Diagnosis
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Knowledge of welfare benefits
Working with customers with complex needs
Carrying out support planning and risk assessments
Working hours:
37.00 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
