We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Bournemouth, who are recruiting for a Senior Housing Options Officer on a temporary eight-week contract. The position is due to start immediately. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £34 via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have strong line management skills, have a enhanced DBS certificate, or be happy to have one carried out, and be happy to travel to Bournemouth one day per week.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Responsible for the line management of staff and operational oversight of the small team of Section 184 assessors

• Providing support to the Housing Solutions Team in providing a comprehensive housing management service to households in emergency and temporary accommodation

• Managing a team and be responsible for completing Section 202 reviews for the team

• Taking the lead on more complex, sensitive, and multi-agency homelessness cases

• Authorising the use of prevention funds, temporary accommodation (including B&B requests), rent deposits, signing off the suitability of placements in temporary accommodation

• Representing the housing service at external meetings with High-risk Domestic Abuse (HRDA) and Multi-Agency Public Protection Agency

• Contributing positively to new initiatives that help to prevent homelessness, that increase the take-up of housing options and minimise the use and cost of temporary accommodation

Working hours:

37 hours per week

Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
