Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in South London, who are recruiting for a Repairs Manager on a temporary six-month contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go permanent. The daily rate of pay is negotiable up to £330 via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of delivering a responsive repairs service, have access to a vehicle, a basic DBS within the last 12 months and have good technical knowledge.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • To be responsible for providing an excellent repairs service to residents, ensuring properties are maintained to the highest standards
  • Manage 1 x Surveyor, 1 Supervisor and 1 RLO
  • Ensure that all works, tenders and quotation matters, payment of invoices etc. and implementing any improvement plans, producing reports as required
  • Lead on the operational development and performance of Repairs Services and support the stock investment function, including the effective management and delivery of all repairs and maintenance related contracts
  • Support DOH in Strategic Development of service in line with regulatory requirements and continuous improvements
  • Responsible for ensuring all relevant policies, procedures and working practices including strategies, procurement and contract management systems are compliant and deliver value for money
  • Experience required:

  • Track record of delivering Responsive Repairs and Void Maintenance services
  • Experience in managing a day-to-day repairs service, ensuring tenants remain at the heart of service delivery
  • Successful contractor management including Responsive repairs and void works
  • Knowledge and experience of successfully managing landlord health & safety
  • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Able to work within a strong team environment, covering for others when needed
  • Able to plan, organise and manage own workload
  • Good technical, building and maintenance knowledge
  • Able to demonstrate up to date with all relevant legislation and good practice including property maintenance, decent homes, landlord health & safety and compliance
