Job description
Our client, based in Birmingham, is currently recruiting for a Project Worker on a two-month temporary contract. The position is due to start immediately on a part-time basis. The standard hours for the role will be Monday to Friday 08:30am – 1.00pm with the expectation to work till 4.00pm depending on business needs. The client requires 20-30 hours of cover each week.
The rate for the role is £17.00 per hour via an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable adults and homelessness, and hold an Enhanced DBS within the last three years.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Responsible for providing support to vulnerable adults located in a Homelessness Drop in centre
- Building rapport with clients and offer a friendly face when clients arrive within the service
- Assisting Triage clients when arriving at the service and understanding the support needs, they require
- Liaising with external agencies on a regular basis
- Assisting service users with housing claims and applications, signposting when necessary
- Offering support with phone calls and arranging food parcels for suitable service users
- Ensuring the service is kept a calm and safe place for clients
Experience required:
- Experience in housing related support
- Experience working with customers with complex needs
- Experience providing support to service users at risk of homelessness
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Risk assessment and support plans
- Signposting to external agencies
- Housing claims and applications
Working hours:
- 20 - 30 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 8:30am-1.00pm and some afternoons till 4.00pm
