Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in Hertfordshire, who are looking to appoint a Project Surveyor on a 2-month temporary contract.

This will be a full-time position based in Hertfordshire, with hybrid working and a daily rate of up to £280 per day via an umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with Nation Housing Federation SOR (V8 preferred). Be experienced in carrying out stock condition surveys.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Interpreting briefs, scope of works and project requirements from, client officers, project sponsors, and external clients and stakeholders, tenants and external organisations

  • To appoint and manage all contractors delivering works in empty homes

  • Oversee contractors work and ensure required standards and key performance is achieved, including analysis and reporting as required

  • Support the wider team and provide a professional architectural and building surveying service ensuring that other council’s property / building assets are compliant, and all assets are improved, repaired and maintained and in a good state of repair and fit for purpose

  • Diagnosing defects and implement cost effective solutions

  • Preparing outline specifications during the design process and detailed specifications for quotation purposes

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in either architectural or surveying office

  • Experience in liaising directly with and coordination of contractors and consultants, project sponsor and external organisations and other members of the project team

  • Experience in the preparation of tender / quotation documentation including specifications and schedules of work

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Detailed knowledge of building technology defects and repair solution

  • Developed skills in the preparation of schedule of works and specifications as required at the various stages of the project including documents for quotation and tendering purposes

  • Knowledge of the need to apply forPlanning, Building Regulations, Development Control, Health and Safety & Party Wall Act

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
