Job description

We are currently partnering exclusively with a Housing Association in South Manchester, who are recruiting for a Standalone Procurement Manager to join their growing organisation on a permanent basis.

Our client is proud to be recruiting for this newly created position which would be ideal for someone already working in a similar role or for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career.

This is a full-time position with a salary band of £42,500 to £46,500 (subject to experience) and the start date is subject to notice. Travel will be required to the office two days per week with three days working from home.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Overseeing all procurement activities and ensuring value for money and social value

  • Developing and implementing new Contract Procedure Rules to comply with Procurement Act 2023

  • Managing the Contract Register, liaising with Contract Managers and managing supplier relationships to a high standard

  • Acting as a procurement subject matter expert and providing advice and support on all related matters across the wider business

  • Leading on significant procurement exercises, understanding business needs and maintaining expert knowledge of public procurement laws and best practices

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing/Public Sector Procurement is highly desirable

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Confident acting as a Subject Matter Expert on Procurement exercises

  • Knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Requirements and the upcoming Procurement Act

Rewards and benefits:

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, flexible hours between 7am – 9pm
