Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a rapidly growing building regulations compliance consultancy firm, who are looking to appoint a Principal Building Regulation Consultant on a permanent contract.
This will be a full-time position with hybrid working and a salary of up to £85,000 per annum. Candidates can be based anywhere in the UK.
Our client is looking for someone to join to be an important part of the design team & provide expert advice, assessments and solutions related to the design and construction of a wide variety of buildings to achieve compliance with the Building Regulations.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Liaising with clients and their professional teams around project scope and management of the fee proposal process
Reviewing scheme proposals and providing initial comments and mark-ups with regards to compliance
Meeting with clients and design teams to present and discuss our initial comments
Reviewing and responding to queries in relation to early-stage design development
Providing expert ad-hoc advice on Building Regulations compliance as required
Formal report writing with annotations to clearly demonstrate compliance in order to support the design teams submission to approving authorities
Experience required:
Professional membership of a Chartered Body – CABE, RICS, or CIOB
Registered Building Inspector to at least level 2F
Proven experience as a Building Control Surveyor or Registered Building Inspector
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Approachable and reliable in character
Able to work on their own initiative and without supervision although willing to collaborate with colleagues
Diplomatic but firm in dealings with clients and design teams
