Job description

We are proud to be partnering with a charity based in central London, who are looking to appoint a permanent HR Advisor.

This is a full-time position with a salary range of £38,000 to £42,000 per annum and the start date is subject to notice.

The ideal candidate will have must have strong understanding and thorough knowledge of UK employment law.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Advising and leading on informal and formal employee relations and people matters including, flexible working requests, performance management, disciplinaries, grievances, managing sickness absence, managing family leave, supporting with staff wellbeing issues and concerns

  • Supporting managers and acting as a source of support and expertise in managing difficult people matters, including providing talking points for challenging meetings, advising and coaching to support employee relations issues, and taking notes of meetings

  • Partnering with recruiting managers to ensure the organisation is recruiting great people that reflect ‘business’ requirements, values and core behaviours

  • Drafting the monthly payroll report ensuring accuracy, including tracking changes throughout the month to inform month-end, and that all changes are recorded and approved

  • Overseeing pension administration ensuring accuracy and legal compliance

  • Leading on job evaluation, sending accurate and good quality new job descriptions to Croner and analysing and reporting on the results

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in a professional Human Resources department at Advisory level and of effectively partnering with managers

  • Experience of advising and supporting on employee relations matters including sickness, disciplinaries, grievances, maternity/paternity leave

  • Experience and confidence of working with HRIS, data and maximising functionality

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and identify priority HR activity to support business areas

  • Excel skills (V Lookup; pivot tables etc) with experience of producing and analysing data and statistics and reports

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm

  • 2 days WFH per week
