Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for an Information Governance Officer to join the team on a temporary basis, until the end of April 2025.

The hourly rate of pay is in the region of £25 p/hour via an Umbrella company, and the role offers hybrid working with office attendance required three times a week.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Logging and responding to requests for information, acting as the first point of contact in dealing with Information Rights requests and advising stakeholders of any related issues

  • Investigating information security incidents, including evidence gathering, recording actions for improvement and providing recommendations to the Data Protection Officer on incidents that may need reporting to the ICO

  • Maintaining effective record keeping and undertaking appropriate analysis to enable the production of statistical information

  • Developing and providing training to colleagues, ensuring organisational learning and continuous improvement

  • Reviewing and monitoring new and existing Information Sharing Agreements, providing advice to the business on compliance with the agreements

  • Advising on Information Governance matters including the application of the corporate records retention and disposal schedule

  • Providing support with budget and administration including requesting quotes and financial spend, and monitoring Service Level Agreements with off-site storage providers

  • Developing procedures and guidance to an agreed standard, ensuring they are reviewed regularly and are up to date

  • Providing support on change projects and programmes involving information governance risks and opportunities to reduce Information Security incidents

Experience required:

  • Experience of working within a Data Protection function

  • IAPP Data Protection qualification, or equivalent
