Job description

We are currently partnering an established Higher Education provider in the West Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Head of Information Compliance on a permanent basis.

The role offers hybrid working (2-days home working) and a salary in the region of £45,000 to £54,000 per annum.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing and ensuring high levels of compliance with GDPR, SAR, FOIA, and other relevant legislation
  • Providing high quality advice on GDPR/data protection and FOI compliance, including drafting and negotiating contracts involving the processing of personal data
  • Leading on key agreements, such as DPIAs and Data Sharing Agreements
  • Continuously improving GDPR and FOIA compliance across the institution including for example, the University’s ROPA, DAR, Data Retention Policy, and related statutory requirements
  • Partnering university departments to advise on records management
  • Drafting and developing frameworks, policies, and procedures, and developing training in relation to good practice on data protection and records management
  • Line managing, supervising and mentoring 2 direct reports

Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor, or have strong experience working within Legal Services and answering legal queries
