Job description

We are proud to be partnering with a dedicated Social Housing provider, based in the Midlands who are looking for two Fire Building Surveyor’s, on temporary contracts until the end of 2025.

The role will be full time hours, with hybrid working (two days home working) and a daily rate of £300 per day outside IR35.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fire safety and must of worked across social housing stock in a previous role.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) works across a social housing stock

  • Ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations, overseeing contractors and delivering high-quality remedial works

  • Conducting site inspections and audits to monitor progress and adherence to fire safety standards and remedy FRA actions

  • Ensuring works are completed and evidenced in accordance with relevant fire safety certification schemes (e.g., FIRAS, Certifire etc.)

  • Providing technical advice on fire safety and remedial measures to internal stakeholders, contractors and colleagues

  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation for remedial works

  • Appointing and managing contractors, ensuring quality control and contract compliance

  • Working collaboratively with external stakeholders, including fire engineers, consultants and CDM management

Experience required:

  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of fire safety legislation including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Building Regulations

  • Good knowledge of fire risk assessments and building safety requirements

  • Be able to view, measure and manage risks

  • Experience of carrying out fire safety works to complex residential properties

  • Must of carried out diagnostic and quality control inspections of building services and construction in buildings as well as having excellent experience of completing detailed schedules of works and fire related specifications

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday

  • Two days from home, three days on site/in the office
