Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Charity based in Central London & Romford, who are recruiting for a ER Specialist on a temporary 3 month contract with the possibility for extension. The position is due to start on Wednesday the 13th of November. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable based upon experience.
The ideal candidate will be a CIPD qualified HR professional who specialises in Employee Relations. The successful candidate must have the ability to lead and advise on casework that will range in complexity and volume, maintaining confidentiality throughout.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Ensuring the organisations treatment of employees is consistent with its core business values and objectives
Managing employee relations cases ranging from sickness to tribunal, averaging 7-10 cases at one given time
Handling employee complaints, managing grievance procedures, and facilitating mediation with other stakeholders, preparing cases for Employment Tribunals if required
Investigating and resolving complex or critical employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner
Advising on and positively encourage the application of best practice in employment matters with regard to equality and diversity objective
Managing and maintaining the casework tracker and provide reports as and when required to the Senior management team
Maintaining a good working knowledge of UK and EU employment legislation and case law
Experience required:
Experience leading on complex ER casework ranging in complexity
Experience liaising with senior stakeholders, reporting on cases
Experience being the note taker in meetings
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Strong problem solving skills
Team player who can work independently
In depth employment legislation knowledge
Excellent written and verbal communications and strong interpersonal skills to deal with individuals at various levels, and on potentially sensitive matters
CIPD Qualified
Working hours:
35 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
