We are currently partnering with an Academy Trust in Birmingham who are recruiting for a Director of Finance to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time position with a salary band of £50,000-£63,000 (subject to experience) and the start date is dependent on candidate notice.

The Academy offer a hybrid working pattern of four days in the office and Fridays working from home.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Holding responsibility for the entire finance function, including line management and mentorship of a team of four direct reports

• Setting and monitoring annual large and complex budgets and day-to-day spend; dealing with funding

• Ensuring compliance with the organisation’s handbook and policies; setting up systems and processes

• Completing management account packs, financial statements and reporting

• Acting as lead of Audit queries and liaising with Auditors, internal and external stakeholders

Experience required:

• Public sector background is essential

• Experience dealing with large and complex budgets

• CCAB qualification is desirable
