Job description

We are currently partnering with a large Housing Association, who are recruiting for an 2 x Assistant Building Safety Manager to join their team on 1 x permanent contract and 1 x fixed term 12-month contract.

This is a full-time position with a salary of up to £44,000 (subject to experience) and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Contract management of consultants and service providers for the provision of building safety information for the buildings within their remit.
  • Supporting the Building Safety Managers, by fulfilling and carrying out various duties and building safety measures, required by the Building Safety Act and secondary legislation.
  • Supporting the Building Safety Managers in their duties to ensure that in-scope buildings within their management remit are safe to occupy, that they continue to be safe to occupy and that they comply with the relevant regulations, as well as taking initiatives to ensure residents also feel safe.
  • To regularly review maintenance and testing activities and outcomes, consider any and all potential risks, including fire and structural matters, whilst delivering high quality building safety management in line with policy, procedures, legislation and government guidance.
  • Ensuring that fire safety and building safety activities are correctly tracked through the Golden Thread, to ensure sufficient evidence is readily available to all stakeholders.
  • To actively contribute on ‘whole building safety’ matters in all meetings internally and externally regarding allocated buildings.
  • Collaborating with relevant teams to raise the profile of the Building Safety Team and awareness of its objectives and activities, working closely with Strategic Building Safety team colleagues.

Experience required:

  • Experience of supporting team members to instill and promote a strong, cohesive team culture
  • Experience of collaborating with a range of stakeholders and working in a similar environment, able to develop positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, residents, non-resident leaseholders and regulatory bodies

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Hold or be willing to work towards a minimum of Level 4 in Building Safety
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and influencing skills, with demonstrable experience delivering building safety related activities
  • Demonstratable continuous professional development
  • Strong organisational skills
