Job description

​We are proud to be supporting a leading University in the West Midlands, who are recruiting for an Interim Senior Property Manager.

The role is a three month temporary contract, full time hours and a rate of £300 per day which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

Our client is ideally looking for somebody to start immediately. The suitable candidate must be MRICs.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing all property interests, in respect of lease obligations, leases, property titles, legal agreements etc.

  • Acting as a property specialist and key advisor to senior management by leading on complex contract negotiations, valuations, operational reviews, investment appraisals and development of strategic business cases for major investments

  • Leading on and ensuring acquisition and disposal of property assets in line with financial and legal regulations

  • Evaluating and assessing business case options regarding acquisitions

  • Advising on legal compliance, including Health & Safety

  • Managing and undertaking property valuations for rating, insurance

  • Advising on dilapidations claims, defects, rent reviews and production of demise plans

Experience required:

  • A degree in a property related discipline or equivalent

  • Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or Chartered Engineer or equivalent

  • Demonstrate significant experience of managing leased properties

  • Experience in monitoring and reporting on property management accounts and service charge accounts and advise on the budgetary implications of the financial performance of properties

  • Experience of establishing and management of a Property Terrier

  • Experienced in measurement and evaluation of spatial data associated with leased interests

  • Working knowledge of property and planning law

  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of the law and practice relating to landlord and tenant

  • Experience and knowledge in the use of appropriate standards and guidance to carry out valuations

  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary Estates and Facilities team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write good quality reports deliver presentations and engage with stakeholders

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with external specialists, consultants and suppliers

Working hours:

  • 37 hours

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
