We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in the South-West, who are recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer on an initial 3-month locum contract. The role is due to start immediately and is offering an hourly rate of circa £50 - £60 via an Umbrella company, and fully remote working.

The ideal candidate will be qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive, and have extensive experience handling judicial reviews.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Advising on a variety of civil litigation matters, providing expert legal advice and representation in various civil disputes
• Handling a varied caseload including general litigation and judicial review proceedings
• Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and legal documents, and providing case analysis
• Assisting in negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions when appropriate
• Advising in respect of selective and additional licensing schemes and enforcement work
• Providing guidance and supervision to junior members of the Litigation team

Experience required:

• Experience required in complex Litigation
• Strong experience handling judicial reviews
• Local Government experience
• Qualified as a Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister
