Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Council based in Kent, who are looking to appoint a Anti-Social Behaviour Officer on a 3 – 6-month contract.

This will be a full-time position.

The hourly rate for this position is negotiable depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience of ASB work, tenancy sustainment and working for a council.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Representing the Council at case panels, action planning meetings and other multi-agency meetings in connection with the preparation of cases for court or enforcement action
  • Attending court as a representative of the council when necessary  
  • Dealing with ASB complaints from residents and taking the appropriate action
  • Receiving casework referrals from designated referral agencies, including the police
  • Ensuring that all complaints regarding tenancy and estate management are referred to the appropriate Officers within the team
  • Liaising as appropriate with other agencies over issues affecting the wellbeing of tenants and their families

Experience required:

  • Experience of managing and resolving anti-social behaviour within a local authority or similar environment
  • Experience of taking cases to court as part of enforcing tenancy or other breaches

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of housing, anti-social behaviour related legislation and best practice
  • The ability to deal with clients compassionately
  • Compliance and due diligence

Working hours:

  • 37.5 a week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
