Job description

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Warwickshire, who are recruiting for a Housing Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis for an initial 3-months.

The role offers hybrid working, with weekly office attendance required, and the rate is up to £55 p/hour subject to experience.

The role will require a full driving license and access to a vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing dedicated legal support on housing, civil litigation and employment matters
  • Contributing to the provision of an efficient and effective legal service to councillors and officers with a commitment to continual improvement and performance management
  • Working alongside other members of the Legal Services Team in supporting the Council’s transformation programme, including advocacy, drafting and/or negotiating for cases within the areas of responsibility of the role with limited supervision
  • The post is supervised by the Legal & Governance Manager through team meetings, 1:1s and day-to-day contact

Experience required:

  • Background in Housing Law essential
  • Knowledge of governance, planning, property, contracts, licensing, and criminal litigation is desirable
