Job description
Our client, based in West Yorkshire, is currently recruiting for a Voids Surveyor on a temporary contract for three months to six months.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.
The ideal candidate will have someone who must have experience of a similar role desirably within social housing and hold a full UK Driving License.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
Conduct inspections within domestic voids properties
Carry out pre- and post-inspections to identify works required within the housing stock
Oversee the full voids process through to re-let
Oversee works conducted by external contractors to ensure they were conducted to a high quality, within timeframes and within Health, Safety & Compliance legislation
Conduct surveys for planned and responsive works
Liaise with tenants regard the progress of works and gaining access to properties
Experience required:
Experience with pre and post inspections on void properties
Experience working on planned and responsive repairs
Experience managing void properties up until the relet stages
Experience as a Building Surveyor/Maintenance surveyor is required, with proven knowledge of inspections identifying faults for repairs
Experience of working within a social housing environment
Experience overseeing planning and building control applications
Experience of minimizing relet durations
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Risk assessment and management skills
Good negotiation and evaluation skills
Being able to communicate affectively across departments in order to identify key dates of handover and ensure any needs of income and customers are met
Knowledge of using and uploading documents onto an asset management database upon completion of works
Good knowledge of relevant building regulations, planning legislation and health and safety
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
