Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a leading national federated support charity based in East London, who are recruiting for a Governance and Risk Manager on a one year fixed term contract.

This is a full-time position and is offering three days/week WFH and two days/week onsite and a salary band of £47,043 - £52,835 per annum (subject to experience).

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Governance Manager in the charity sector, however line management experience is not a requirement in this role.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring the smooth running of the governance framework, driving continuous development and improvement, ensuring it continues to meet the needs of the organisation

  • Acting as the first point of contact and providing advice and support to the board of trustees to fulfil their roles, including overseeing the servicing of trustee meetings

  • Leading the governance and company secretarial functions, ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with agreed processes and legal timescales

  • Delivering the development and management of the organisation’s approach to risk management, monitoring and reporting on organisational risks and managing the risk register

  • Monitoring, developing and reviewing policies and resources which support good governance, ensuring appropriate compliance with relevant legislation and ensuring associated risks are successfully managed

Experience required:

  • Experience working in not-for-profit

  • Experience working in a federated organisation

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Governance and secretarial support

  • Risk management
