Job description

We are proud to be partnering with a reputable Housing Association who are proud to provide good quality homes that people want to live in and to provide quality services at an affordable cost.

They are currently seeking an Area Surveyor (HHSRS) on a 12-month fixed term contract, based in West Yorkshire with a salary of £40,534.20.

The ideal candidate must have used NHF Schedule of Rates and have an extensive background in Social Housing.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Covering 8 inspections/appointments per day

  • Providing technical expertise to the maintenance of the organisation’s assets

  • Specifying and managing the diagnosis and delivery of HHSRS remediations including Damp and Mould repairs identified through surveys or through customer referrals

  • Identifying and managing follow up repairs and reporting the effective coordination of planned and cyclical maintenance

  • Ensuring that customers receive a high-quality repairs service that delivers value for money and achieves high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Providing forensic understanding of buildings, including diagnosis and pathology as well as stock performance across the Housing Association’s portfolio

  • Communicating and demonstrating clear investment and divestment requirements through relevant diagnostics and surveying procedures

  • Liaising with stakeholders, such as contractors/developers/funders/local authorities and consultants

  • Working closely with other members of the Asset Team, the Neighbourhood Surveyors and the Neighbourhood Teams to maximise the performance of assets

Experience required:

  • NHF Schedule of Rates

  • Previous experience carrying out damp and mould surveys

  • Experience of identifying damp and mould causes and providing solutions

  • Able to deal with challenging situations

Rewards and Benefits:

  • Car allowance: 150g/Km £1318 per annum, 151-165 g/kg £1089.07 per annum, 166-185g/km £859.79 per annum, 185g/kg £630.51 per annum

  • 30 day annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Flexible working days

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
